We are seeking a full-time Sous chef to work 5 days
In these roles, you will bring extensive experience, motivation, and a absolute love for creating mouth-watering delicious food using the very best local seasonal produce. You should have a proven track record of managing high-volume. Your focus will be leadership, with exceptional interpersonal skills. You’ll be responsible for setting the tone for your kitchen team, providing training and mentorship while overseeing the smooth execution of service.
About You
As Sous Chef, you will lead a skilled team, overseeing daily operations to ensure seamless service and exceptional guest experiences. You will manage all kitchen activities, take full responsibility for service execution, and report directly to the head Chef.
Assist the Head Chef in creating seasonal, produce-driven menus
Proven experience in a similar role as Sous Chef essential
Skilled in managing in high volume service
Strong leadership skills with the ability to maintain a calm, even temperament and work under pressure.
A passionate, driven leader with expertise and motivation working closely with our Head Chef.
Champion of a positive kitchen culture, fostering creativity, calmness and respect
A culinary artist with a flair for menu planning and development, bringing innovative ideas to the table
A commitment to delivering stunning dishes with exceptional taste
A successful track record of leading teams to achieve consistent results
Comprehensive knowledge of food safety, OH&S standards, and compliance
Provide mentorship and guidance to kitchen staff during both service and non-service periods
Resilience and ability to drive your team to perform in high-pressure service periods with an even temperament
Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build effective relationships
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly organised, self-motivated, and driven by a high-performing work ethic
Your Responsibilities
Assist in all sections of the kitchen when required during service
Assist the Head Chef with the management of the kitchen profit and loss
Ensure the kitchen is ready & set up for service
Lead and guide BOH team during shifts, ensuring quality and consistent output every time.
Strong ability to manage stock and labour costs, ensuring efficiency and profitability.
Experience in understanding kitchen financials, wastage and creating truly delicious dishes
Mentor, train & develop crew members
