We are seeking a reliable and efficient Prep Cook to join our kitchen team at Caffé e Cucina. This role involves preparing ingredients for service, maintaining a clean and organised workstation, and supporting chefs with basic cooking and kitchen tasks.

Key responsibilities:

• Wash, chop, and portion vegetables, meats, and other ingredients
• Prepare sauces, dressings, and stocks as directed
• Set up and restock prep stations before and during service
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards
• Assist chefs during service and clean down stations after shifts

Skills and experience

• Ability to interact positively with management and coworkers
• Ability to produce a high volume of work promptly, which is accurate, complete and of high quality
• Ability to follow directions, to get along with coworkers and management, to treat co-workers, supervisors and members with respect and courtesy and to refrain from abusive, insubordinate behaviour
• Team oriented with excellent organizational skills
• An Italian cuisine experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred
• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
