We are looking for a motivated and reliable Assistant Cook to support our kitchen team in delivering high-quality meals in a clean, safe, and efficient environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about food preparation and eager to grow their skills in a commercial kitchen setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items under the direction of the Manager
• Ensure ingredients are prepped and ready for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, portioning meats)
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
• Follow all food safety and workplace health & safety procedures
• Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, and receiving deliveries
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
• Work as part of a team to ensure efficient and smooth kitchen operations
• Support with dishwashing and general kitchen duties as needed

Requirements:

• Previous kitchen or food handling experience preferred but not essential – training will be provided
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions
• Basic understanding of food safety standards (Food Handlers Certificate is an advantage)
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
