Hurricane Handsome is a modern Australian breakfast/brunch restaurant in Port Melbourne. We are

known for our award-winning coffee, customer service and food.

We currently have various positions for both a cook or chef to join the team and are looking for a

candidate who is creative and passionate about food and providing the highest standards of food

services in the industry.

Chef Position

Responsibilities

Mentioned below are the day-to-day tasks of a Chef in this role.

 Work in conjunction with the Head Chef to lead the operation of our kitchen

 Support leading, mentoring and developing the team while running various sections during

service

 Assume total responsibility of the service in absence of the Head Chef Food preparation and

monitoring the dishes during cooking, plating and presentation

 Maintaining and ordering food stocks and supplies

 Engage in a positive manner with FOH teams to ensure outstanding food experience for our

customers

 Be involved with a creative process of weekly special options

 Support on enduring COGS and key performance metrics is met in the kitchen

Cook Position

Responsibilities

Mentioned below are the day-to-day tasks of a Cook in this role.

 Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality

 Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment

 Preparing and cooking food

 Seasoning food during cooking

 Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes

 Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities

 Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements

 May plan menus and estimate food requirements

 May train other kitchen staff and apprentices
