The Role: Chef

Primary goals:

– To assist the Head chef and sous chefs in the smooth running and consistent high standard of the kitchen.
– To be a leader to the Cooks and apprentices, through supervision and training.
– Have the ability to manage the kitchen for periods of time in the chef’s absence.
– Keeping the kitchen at a very high standard of cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen.
– Setting a good example to all chefs in all aspects of the kitchen.

This role includes a number of responsibilities and expectations that are listed below, these may include but are not limited to:.

– Food Production
– Ordering and Stock Control
– Supervision
– Managing Kitchhands
– Hygiene, Sanitation and Safety. The Chef is responsible for ensuring the ongoing use of the Food Safety Program.
