Norwood Café & Restaurant is situated in Burwood Brickworks Shopping Centre, being the go-to brunch shop and coffee shop for many who lives in the area. With the start of evening operations we’re currently seeking a highly talented and energetic kitchenhand to join our kitchen team on a part-time basis.

About the opportunity

Reporting to head chef – nighttime ops, the ideal candidate must be available to work between Thursdays and Sundays, including public holidays, for shifts between 4pm and 10pm. Your responsibilities include, but not limited to –

– Assisting in preparing main and side dishes

– Assisting in stock management

– Assisting in opening/closing the kitchen

– Cleaning and organising kitchen floor, dishes, and kitchen equipment

– Maintaining a clean working environment

– Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

What we expect

– Experience as a kitchenhand in a high-volume restaurant preferred

– Takes impeccable pride in their appearance and personal hygiene

– Stock management experience preferred but not required

– Highly organised and ability to work under pressure

– Problem-solving and communication skills

– Holds a clear understanding of both written & spoken English
