Flinch Coffee & Play, a vibrant cafe known for its Japanese souffle pancakes, top-notch coffee and playful atmosphere is seeking an experienced chef or kitchen hand to join our team on weekends. As a key member of our crew, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional experiences to our customers.
Responsibilities
Prepare a wide range of savory dishes, including soba noodle salads, cauliflower fritters and mouth-watering burgers
Baking delectable sweet treats like Japanese souffle pancakes and an assortment of pastries
Ensure all menu items are prepared according to recipes and presentation standards
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
Collaborate with the team to develop new menu ideas
Provide excellent customer service by communicating with front-of-house staff
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience as a chef or kitchen hand in a cafe or restaurant setting
Skilled in baking and pastry arts (an asset)
Ability to follow recipes precisely while showcasing creativity
Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations
Excellent multitasking and time management skills
Ability to work well under pressure during busy weekend rushes
Passion for quality food preparation and presentation
Attention to detail and commitment to excellent customer service
Flexibility to handle various tasks like prep work, cooking, plating, etc.
Physical stamina to be on your feet for extended periods
Food handling certification (an asset)
