Capalaba Kids Early Learning Centre is an established Reggio Emilia inspired centre in the heart of Capalaba, which has been rated as EXCEEDING the National Quality Standards. This beautiful double centre is licensed for 150 places a day. Our ten studios cater for children aged six weeks to six years, across two beautiful centres.

We are currently seeking a friendly and passionate Kitchen Hand, who is highly motivated and enjoys preparing nutritious and wholesome meals for large groups of children.

The successful applicant will possess qualities that will ensure a high level of service for the children each day. You will have experience in meal preparation and managing allergies / dietary requirements. Punctuality, consistency, good communication skills, creativity and enthusiasm are a must.

Position Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver meals and menus (including food for children with special dietary requirements and allergies)
• Manage ordering and budgeting
• Work in accordance with food safety regulations for safe and hygienic handling, storage and preparation of food and drinks
• Manage and be responsible for the kitchen

Essential Selection Criteria

• Strong knowledge of wholesome and nutritious food suitable for children under 12 years (including infants)
• Working with Children Blue Card
• Excellent record keeping and organisational skills

Desirable Criteria

• Certificate III in Children’s Services (or equivalent)
• Certificate III in Hospitality – Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
• Current First Aid / CPR Certificate
• Experience with within a recognised and accredited Child Care Facility or similar environment will be highly valued
