About The Blue Fin Fishing Club

Founded in 1956 by a group of local fishermen, The Blue Fin Fishing Club is the largest fishing club in Australia, with over 16,500 members. Today, the nationally recognised social club provides its members a relaxing and cosy environment for having a good time with families and friends.

Our facilities include a Bistro, Bar, Café, gaming rooms, kids’ room plus function and training rooms. Our club is located in Inala, 30 minutes from Brisbane CBD, 30 minutes from Ipswich and 1 hour from the Gold Coast.

The strength of The Blue Fin Fishing Club is its place in our community. We sponsor various local projects plus run a community support program. Every dollar generated by the club is invested back into fishing or to enhancing our services and facilities for members.

Reporting to the Catering Manager & Chefs this is a hands-on role where you will strive to provide guest orientated, friendly, attentive and have a “can do” attitude to WOW our members and guests in a fast-paced environment.

Duties/responsibilities

• Kitchen cleaning including pot washing and heavy cleaning duties.
• Operating industrial dish washers.
• Adherence to food hygiene and occupational health and safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of washing bays and ensuring all dishes are washed promptly.
• Sound working knowledge of Food Hygiene and Safety.

Skills/experience

• Previous hospitality experience (kitchen/dish hands – preferably in high volume kitchen environments)
• Impeccable presentation and grooming
• Knowledge of OH&S hygiene
• Your own transportation is essential.
• Flexible availability to work split shifts during lunch and dinner with full availability.

We have a casual position available. A minimum of two years’ experience is required; therefore, this position is not suitable for introduction to the hospitality industry. We are passionate about our team and aim to ensure our team represents the community we serve.
