Food Services Retail Assistant

About This Job

Bulimba State School P&C Association is seeking passionate and enthusiastic casual Retail Assistant (10-15 hours per week) to join our team. The successful applicant will work alongside the Food Services Manager, planning, cooking and delivering a nutritious and seasonal menu for our school tuckshop and OSHC operations.

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate the following skills:

Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment;
Excellent time management skills;
Ability to work as part of a team of employees and volunteers;
Excellent communication skills;
A true passion for offering healthy, creative and innovative menus for children (4-12 years), teachers and staff;
The ability to build strong relationships with the children, parents, school staff and the broader community;
An outgoing personality with a ‘can do’ attitude.

To be successful, you will need:

Relevant Food Safety qualifications or willingness to obtain;
Be available to work each school day;
Hold a current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificate or willingness to obtain;
A current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
Knowledge of the Smart Choices Guidelines for school tuckshops.

Hours of work:

A maximum of 5 hours each day
With a minimum of 10 hours per week
