Chef de partie position available 

Santa Monica is looking for a passionate Chef to join our work family. We are a busy bar restaurant in the heart of the CBD. open MONDAY to FRIDAY serving a mix of corporate customers for lunches and dinner to large functions and events. 

An exciting career opportunity exists for a highly motivated and proactive chef to join the Santa Monica  team. Along with our team of chefs, you will be responsible ensuring all the food leaving the kitchen is of a high standard, all general duties are undertaken in a timely manner and helping the rest of the team when required. 

You will be joining a team of chefs who pride themselves on consistently great food in a fast-paced lunch and dinner service. We are also known for our functions and extensive function platters on offer to larger groups throughout the week. 

With multiple businesses in the CBD, we work closely with our staff to help you up-skill and grow to help you reach your full potential in your career but also in your personal aspirations. 

Responsibilities

      •     Cooking, preparing ingredients, and seasoning meats

      •     Cleaning and organizing station

      •     Taking note of inventory

      •     Contributing to maintaining kitchen and food safety standards

      •     Work with the best products and help us bring our vision to come to life

The Successful candidate will possess the following skills:

Strong work ethic, commitment to learn and further your cooking skills.
Impeccable knife skills 
Previous experience in a fast-paced environment (2 years preferred) 
Hard-working and efficient and able to work well under pressure 
Excellent organizational skills 
Ability to communicate effectively Able to take direction and lead a team when required
A complete knowledge of a wide range of cooking practices and of safe, hygienic working standards and all relevant food safety certificates

I’m comfortable with customer service, taking orders, making basic coffee and keeping the workplace clean and organised. I’m a quick learner, punctual and always willing to help.
