Mermaid Beach Surf Life Saving Club Located right in the heart of the Gold Coast on Hedges Avenue is looking for a Breakfast Chef / Qualified Chef to join their team.
The Mermaid Beach SLSC Supporters Club is vastly being recognised as the stand out Surf Club for premium Hospitality. From the moment you entre the Club it’s all about the customer service, followed by the facilities and décor then lastly the amazing food and chef’s. It’s a combination that is hard to find and not to be missed.

The Mermaid Beach Surf Club has a history spanning more than 75 years and has made a decision to give the Club’s Restaurant an identity “Merlina’s”.
Now is the time to put your footprint on this opportunity and be part of the stand out Surf Club on the Coast that has family values and a culture second to none.

Answering directly to the General Manager and Head Chef you will support the team. Research new concepts and develop a plan for implementation for the future as the Club seeks to reposition the venue for new emerging markets while catering for it’s current loyal customers. The Club understands diversity and with this we require a chef that also has the skills and background to help diversify our menu with Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
To be eligible you must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Residents. We would be happy to look at sponsorship in the future.
Have a positive attitude with a passion for cooking. A willingness to grow with the team and have good organization skills. Definitely NO Pre-Madonna’s here, we have a close knit team and no room for ego’s. We must remember this industry is not getting any easier and we must surround ourselves with the right team and Business.

To be suitable for this position the candidate will posses the following attributes :-

– Must be trade qualified in Cert III Commercial Cookery
– Cool under pressure and excited by a challenging fast paced environment
– To lead by example and be very hands on
– Willing to work weekends, nights and public holidays
– Ability to bring the best out of your team and apprentices
– Maintaining hygiene in the kitchen
